A Rambling for the day...

Twas the last day of a golden summer...although, some of it was not very golden, but it was loverly all the same! :)

Tis fall. I love fall! The leaves turn and float softly to the ground...you wake early in the morning to find sweet white frost coating the earth outside and while walking with your dogs your breath lifts in puffy warm masses to the clear, cold blue sky above. Nature sings of winter time. I can understand why some people think of winter as an ugly death falling over their part of the world, but it is much too beautiful a time to be thought of as death. True, everything looks as though it has died, but underneath the snow laden earth, deep in their borrows of comfort and warmth, lie the new green blades of grass that will soon awake from long their long sleep.

But I am getting ahead of myself. Tis still fall! Something to be thankful for. :) I will not be saddened by summer's departure. I am ready for a new season, for new adventures that await! Whether they be exploring the vast surrounding prairies or discovering something new and exciting in the pages of God's word, I am ready for them! :)

Currently, I am studying I John. I've found it so lovely and so true that I go back and read the same chapter over again!

For school, Math is going well. Although I find myself understanding the lessons quite well, I still manage to get a B- on them! Oh, the joy! :D American History, is most indulging! Currently looking at the many explorers who became intrigued by the New World. A report on Francis Coronado is due on Tuesday next. An Anne of Green Gables unit study is terribly occupying! Anne is the most delightful friend from books I have ever known! :) Home EC. will be starting soon and amidst planning a wedding, there will be cooking, bread baking, learning to run a household, etc, all the things a wife and mother would do. :) One Year Adventure Novel writing course keeps me in stitches all day long! But it is very good for a beginning writer. And that is all at present for school!

I'm reading a number of books purely for the enjoyment of being able to read at all. :) Jane Austen's Emma, Mary Poppins Opens the Door, by P.L. Travers, and I'm not very far in Anne Holm's I Am David, but I love the book. After all these are finished, a dear friend sent me a book called The Sky is Falling Kit Pearson and I shall lapse into those pages. It looks very good and the main character captured my heart in the first chapter, which is all I have read at present! (How do authors do that, I should like to know?) When I am through with all of them, I do not know what I will do. I must read millions of books at a time otherwise I feel terribly lost withouth them! :)

But that is quite enough rambling for now! :) (I think speaking as the English do is so charming! Next time, if I dare, I'll try a post where I speak as a news boy in New York in the 1900's! If I dare!)

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

I'm so glad you're liking I Am David! Millions of books--haha, I know what you mean. I have a bad habit of starting a book, then finding a more interesting one, so I'm always reading at least three or four at once.

OYAN keeping you in stitches, is that a good thing or a bad thing? ;) I'm still waiting for my homeschool group to START already so I've only done the first two actual lessons, but I've watched ten-ish chapters on the DVD...hehe, they're addicting. Love it.

Looking forward to the Newsie post :P

Haha! Same here, Aly! I started Emma and then...we went to the library...and no matter what, if I go into a library I HAVE to come out with something! Even if there isn't any worthwhile, but I got Mary Poppins Opens the Door...that was what done it! :D

Oh, a good thing! For my part away, because I'm not a very clever writer and it's helping me to think cleverly! And oh, I do so agree with you that they are addicting! They're wonderful! I just wish I had more room to gobble it up in! :)

Yay! You're reading "The Sky is falling"! Splendid! I loved that book! :) Well; I still do love it. :) Although I haven't read it in a while. Which is beside the point.

So yes. Excuse this comment. ;)
