just closed her eyes
and went to sleep
drifting away in memory
I went looking for autumn
and found her next to me
she took my hand
and kissed my nose
smiling midst the clouds

but now she's here with me!
I read her story in the breeze
chased her footsteps in the leaves
and caught her words on high
I went looking for autumn
but she found me instead
I asked her how
she just smiled
"I found you watching for me!"
