A golden, peachy memory . . . and the Jabberwocky

Today a year ago, right this moment, I was on a plane to Cali!

With one of my best friends beside me!

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

And what does the Jabberwocky have to do

with that golden, peachy memory of California?

After all, it is quite a violent poem

and some will argue it has no meaning whatsoever.

Oh, it means something--something wonderful!

Something that I love and will always cherish!

It means starry nights with dear girls, counting the falling stars.

It means photoshoots in the late Cali afternoons.

It means hiking to Viola Waterfall and camping out at night,

wondering if a bear would wander past our tent!

It means Round Robin with lovely, lovely girls!

It means happy mornings driving to church in a Jeep with our own chauffeur!

It means days at the beach and roasting hot dogs,

playing volley ball so late you can't see it anymore!

It means The Feather Theme from Forrest Gump!

I love you all so dearly!

Love,

Me
